14K Gold Art Nouveau Turquoise Drop Pendant with Mississippi Pearl

Circa 1910, this 14k gold hand-made pendant features a popular combination of turquoise and pearl that was often seen during the Art Nouveau era. At the top is a beautiful teardrop-shape turquoise cabochon in a robin’s egg blue-ish hue with a pretty matrix of coloring across it. It is bezel set and hugged by a classic Art Nouveau leaf motif. Dangling below is a Mississippi River pearl, elongated and organic in shape, and topped with a flower petal bail. The back of the pendant has a nice closed setting that beautifully shows off the antique gold. The pendant hangs from a new 14k gold Italian belcher link chain. A classic, graceful Art Nouveau piece that adds a gorgeous pop of turquoise and has the perfect amount of presence on the neck. 

The pendant measures 1 3/8” x 7/16”, plus an additional 7.5 x 5.3 mm bail. The chain is 18” and has a lobster clasp. The pendant weighs 1.77 grams and the chain weighs 2.75 grams for a total weight of 4.5 grams. The pendant is unmarked but acid tests as 14k gold; the chain is marked as 14k, Nova, and Italy.
