14K Gold Victorian Banded Agate and Turquoise Enamel Mourning Ring

This delicate and dear 14k gold ring combines some of the most enticing qualities of Victorian mourning jewelry. In its center is a banded agate disk carved with a quatrefoil design. The agate contains two shades of blue that create an intricate X-shaped floral graphic symbol. A circular ball motif of 14k gold frames the disk, and on either side is a hand-engraved scrolling foliate of leaves. The bottom of the band features a vibrant turquoise enamel that looks stunning against the gold. 

The interior of the band contains a cursive script that reads “In memory of A.L.F.” 

The ring acid tests to be 14k gold. Circa 1870.
