Georgian Diamond and Emerald 14K Gold and Silver Necklace

This lovely diamond and emerald necklace is from Kirsten’s Corner Signature collection. It is a piece that was made from a Georgian component attaching the gold rolo chain and an oval emerald drop, creating this delicate necklace.

The center stone is set in a closed back silver and yellow gold pendant with two green cushion step cut emerald and forty four near-colorless variously shaped modified old mine cut and single cut diamonds  An oval emerald hangs from the Georgian component.

The central emerald is listed as 5.53mm x 4.79mm in the setting.  Because of the nature of the collet setting part of the stone is under the gold so the stone is larger. There are 2 4.3 mm x 3mm step cut cushion emeralds on either side of the central stone.  The oval measures 5.5 mm x 3.5 mm.  The emeralds have a total combined carat of approximately 2 carats.

The diamonds are beautiful chunky old diamonds, a combination Old Mine Cuts with high tables and single cuts.  The approximate carat weight for the forty four diamond is 1.25 carat with the average diamond mm be 2mm.  The diamonds are set with an open back and the diamonds offer a beautiful sparkle.  The Georgian component dates to 1820. The rolo chain is Victorian.

The chain is marked Italy 14K and the necklace is 15” long and the entire piece weighs 6 grams. It is a romantic piece with old world charm stemming from the historical centerpiece.  The emeralds are a vibrant green and the center stone comes with a GIA Emerald Origin Report # 1176935075 stating that the center stone is Columbia and F1 in clarity. Since it dates to 1820 I wouldn’t expect less as all stones were natural at that time. But it is nice to have the documentation.
