Gucci Sterling Silver Double Dog Tag Necklace

These sterling silver dog tag pendants are fashioned after the military dog tags that soldiers wear as identification. The tradition in the United States dates back to the Civil War, and dog tags have evolved in shape, size, and style many times over the years. At some point, luxury design houses began coming up with their own versions of the tags, popularizing them in contemporary fashion. This pair from Gucci is marked with the designer’s logo and comes with a ball chain necklace with a barrel clasp that also bears the Gucci mark. Rendered in sterling silver, they make a sleek and stylish addition to any outfit.

The tags measure 2” x 1 1/8”, and come as a pair of two tags. The ball chain is 23 1/2” long, and the barrel clasp opens and closes, though the chain is long enough to go over the head. The piece weighs 47.4 grams. The dog tags are marked Gucci, made in Italy, with the copyright, 925, and the Italian Gucci maker’s mark of 1897AR (for Arezzo).
