Victorian 10K Gold Bird Pendant with Ruby

This highly detailed Victorian bird pendant is delicate, sweet, and poetic. The 10k gold bird has two tones of gold—a yellow gold on the body and a more copper-colored gold along the wings and tail. The bird holds a branch with leaves in its mouth, as well as a prong set ruby that dangles from the pendant. There is beautiful detail in this piece, with tiny delineated feathers—even the tiny little leaves on the branch have veins engraved into them—all hand-engraved with impeccable skill. The pendant comes on a very delicate baby curb link chain. 

The pendant measures 1/2” x 3/4”. The chain is 18 1/4” long. The piece weighs 3 grams. The pendant and the charm test to be 10k. The clasp is a replacement and is marked as 14k (but the rest of the piece is 10k). The synthetic ruby measures 2.5 mm. There is slight, age-appropriate wear on the tail of the bird.
