Tiffany & Co. has a history of safety pin jewelry that dates back to the 1940’s. Throughout the years, there have been many versions of the iconic safety pin, varying in shape, size, and decoration. This particular pin, circa the 1940’s, has the classic baby top, flat and angular, reminiscent of a diaper pin. The 14k gold is twisted into an elegant loop on the opposite end to create a graceful and elongated shape.
The pin is fully hallmarked with “Tiffany & Co.” and 14K. It can be worn in many ways: as a brooch; a chain extender; or charms could be soldered on to dangle from the pin. It weighs 2.9 grams and measures 2 1/4” x 3/8”. In excellent condition.
