The Story

This is a Lovely round French papier mache snuff box. This elegant woman and gentleman are exchanging love letters "Le Billet Doux". "Le Billet Doux" translate to the Love Letter. It looks like an etching from a book maybe of an illustration of a romantic novel. The dark ochre colored box is round in shape and 3 1/2" in diameter and 7/8" tall. It is in very good condition. There appears to be a small repair to the image on the top of the lid image. The lid fits tight and only very minor paint chips, no cracks of breaks. This is a lovely snuff box, circa 1810, France.
