The Story
This is a great R. Blackinton Sterling Silver Match Safe with a beautiful acid cut leaf design to both the front and back. The beautiful Art Nouveau design is flowy and elegant—bouquets of leaves are engraved with stunning detail. The design is the same on both sides but one side has the monogram “A.H.A.M.”
R. Blackinton & Co., North Attleboro, Massachusetts, circa 1900. Marks: B (with sword), STERLING, 1802. It measures 2 3/8 " high x 1 3/4" wide and 1.18 troy ounces. It is in very good condition having a small split to the seam of the top (see photo). Lovely Match Safe with a good shape, size, and beautiful design.
