Victorian 9K Gold Banded Agate Bulls Eye Locket or Pendant

This is a fabulous Victorian 9 karat gold bulls-eye banded agate locket.  An oval front with a bezel set agate and twisted wire work detail make this a striking piece. There is a lovely border of black enamel laurel leaves that surround the agate. Laurel leaves can represent peace and triumph.  The locket has an oval opening in the back for a portrait or a lock of hair or whatever small keepsake one may have in mind.  There is a removable pane of glass that covers the opening.  This will need to be glued in place after the object of your choice is placed in the locket to remain secure. 

This piece can be worn as a brooch or a pendant using the pin as a bail. It is 1 5/8" x 1 1/2". There is a silk moire backing and the locket opening is 1 1/4" x 1".
